I, FREDERICK GEORGE DODHAN, Master of the 8. S.

"ORIENT CITY" make oath and say as follows:

1. At 22.30 hours on the 18th July, 1947, I passed

approximately three miles south of a wreck marked on the

chart in position latitude 24 North, longitude 116° 13′

East, and set course to pass three miles north of the

Island of Pedro Blanco.

2. At about 0530 hours on the 19th July, 1947, Isighted

land on my starboard bow which I later identified as

Fokai Point which was approximately five to six miles

distant.

3. This fact clearly establishes that the vessel under

my command was set approximately 10to 11 miles in a

northerly direction.

4. My speed was 10 knots and I kept zone time of the

120th meridian.

5. The last fix was by stellar observation P.M. on the

18th July, 1947.

All of which is true to the best of my knowledge

and belief.

SWORN at the Courts of Justice,

Hong Kong, this 22nd day of

July, 1947.

Before me,

Sd. H. A. de B. Botelho.

A Commissioner &c.

sd.F.G. Dodman,

Master, S.S. "ORIENT CIT
